It’s a pretty exciting time for Pokemon. Not everyone is jazzed up for Pokémon Go or the next pair of Let’s go games, but they have undeniably widened the series’ global audience. Perhaps the most exciting news of all is that the next major gen is coming to consoles for the first time (in non-derivative / adjacent form), which we might hear about sooner rather than later.
Junichi Masuda, jack of all tradesPokemon-trades (producer, director, songwriter, designer) will be the featured guest on the Pokenchi show on Sunday, September 9 at 8:00 p.m. JST (9:00 p.m. ET) to “provide the latest news on Pokemon games“. There is a good chance that the presentation (Direct but not Direct?) Let’s go Pikachu / Eevee, but you never know if Nintendo / Game Freak have a surprise up their sleeve.
The timeline appears to be a calculated punch. Attract new fans Let’s go and wrap them up with a real main entrance. Hopefully the upcoming duo will be good enough to catch the old ones as well.
