Release dates announced for upcoming Pokemon games

Earlier this year, The Pokémon Company announced the 4th gen remakes –Pokémon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl-as good as Pokémon Legends Arceus during the Pokémon Presents event. This morning it was announced that Shiny Diamond Pokémon and Shining Pearl Pokémon will be released on November 19, 2021 and Pokemon Captions Arceus on January 28, 2022 for the Nintendo Switch. The official Twitter also tweeted official coverage of the upcoming games.

With this year being the 25th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise, there has been a lot of exciting news from archeology museums to game remakes and more. Pokémon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl released fifteen years ago for Nintendo DS, and now fans will once again be able to explore time and space in the Sinnoh region. The 4th generation has introduced over a hundred new pokemon, regions and features in the pokemon series, which has allowed players to have more accessibility to complete pokédex and competitive play. Based on the trailer, the games appear to be precise remakes of the original games, but it’s unclear if the games will include some of the new mechanics introduced later in the Pokémon franchise. The game will be available on Switch on November 19, 2021.

Pokémon Legends Arceus is “a new take on the Pokémon video game series” under development by Game Freak. It will include an open world concept and follow the story of ancient Sinnoh by mixing both old and new experiences. After receiving their own pokemon from a traveling professor, players will travel the world catching and battling pokemon to complete the first Sinnoh pokédex and uncover the secrets of the legendary Arceus.
